Installing and Configuring Eudora Pro 4

For more information about Eudora Pro, see Qualcomm's Eudora Mail web site.

The first time you start Eudora after installing it, you will be prompted to set it up by the "New Account Wizard". Follow these steps:

  1. New Account Wizard: this screen welcomes you to Eudora Pro. Click Next.

  2. Account Settings: this screen asks if you'd like to set up a new account. Leave "Create a brand new email account" checked, and click on Next.

  3. Personal Information: enter your name in the "Your Name" field. (this is your full name or the name as you wish your recipients to see it. E.g., John W. Smith). Click Next.

  4. E-Mail Address: enter your 'real' email address (this is the address others will use to send you email or reply to your messages. E.g., your_name@xiconnect.com) Click Next.

  5. Login Name: enter your login username (your xiconnect mailbox name ID. E.g., jsmith). Don't enter the "@xiconnect" portion of your ID. Click Next.

  6. Incoming E-Mail Server: enter your pobox information here. This is always mail.xiconnect. Leave POP checked. Click Next.

  7. Outgoing E-Mail Server: enter the name of outgoing email server. This is always mail.xiconnect. Click Next.

  8. Success! Click on Finish.



How to Configure an existing Eudora Pro 4.x account

  1. Select Options from the Tools menu.

  1. Select the category Getting Started, and enter the following information:

  2. Real Name:  Type your name (optional).

    Return Address: yourname@xiconnect.com

    Mail Server(Incoming): mail.xiconnect.com

    Login Name:  your mailbox name

  1. Select Checking Mail and enter the following information:

    Mail Server: mail.xiconnect.com

    Login Name:  your mailbox name

  2. Select Incoming Mail, and enter the following information:

Server Configuration: POP

Authentication Style: Passwords

  1. Select Sending Mail, and enter the following information:

Return Address: yourname@xiconnect.com
Domain to add to unqualified addresses: Leave blank.
Smtp Server: mail.xiconnect.com

  1. Click OK
